Shirley Lorene Witte Bottlinger was born April 9, 1932 in Indian Gap, Texas to Oscar Henry Witte and Bertha Hulda Seider Witte.

Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2017 at Riley Funeral Home from 6-8 PM. Service will be Saturday, August 12, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aleman at 10 AM. Interment to follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

She was the second of eleven children. Shirley was baptized on June 5, 1932 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas by Pastor T.M. Munsur and confirmed on August 26, 1945...

She was the second of eleven children. Shirley was baptized on June 5, 1932 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas by Pastor T.M. Munsur and confirmed on August 26, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville, Texas by Pastor E.H. Kuhlmann. Her confirmation verse was John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

She started school at Indian Gap. In 1945 the family moved to Pottsville where she graduated from high school in 1949. On January 20, 1961 she married LaVerne Lawrence Bottlinger.

Together they raised five children: Sandra Lynn, Thomas Edward, Janet Lee, Rhonda Laverne and Christopher Don. Shirley worked most of her life as a nurse at the hospital and various nursing homes in Hamilton. She loved to dance, sew, garden, play dominoes, refinish furniture and be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters: Imogene, Juanita, and Wanda.

She is survived by sisters, Janice and Mary; brothers, Elton, James, Leonard, Marvin, and Larry; her children, Sandy of Hamilton , Tommy and wife, Mona of Hamilton, Janet and friend, John McCarthy of Lampasas, Rhonda and husband, C.B. Leos of Oglesby, and Chris and wife, Suzi of Hamilton; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
